Travelling is making me think, making me see more and more of the way that this world works in a disfunctional manner. Amidst those realisations are little acts of random kindness that make the world a slightly brighter place. Here are a few of them!
- Someone shouted “Justin Bieber!” at me in a small street in Pushkar, India, because I have short hair with an undercut. Made me laugh π
- We were provided breakfast on an early morning train in India, but I had a disproportionate struggle to undo the ketchup for my vegetable fingers. The young local chap next to me took it off me without saying a word and gave it back to me opened βΊοΈπ
- Walking through the streets of Jaipur I happened to smile at a lady. She saw me and a big grin spread across her face! So heartwarming. π
- At the Taj Mahal, I heard an American woman say to an Indian person: “May I take a picture of your beautiful family?” That’s the way to treat people, I thought ππ€
- Upon returning to the same hostel in Nepal after a week elsewhere, the guy at the desk got up, gave me a hug and said “Welcome back!” π
- I visited Ghyangphedi, a rural mountain village in Nuwakot, Nepal, and the elderly women there were so kind-hearted and welcoming. They gave me hugs and homemade Roxy alcohol! ππ·
- All the Grab drivers in Bangkok who let me off a few baht π
- The lovely couple who run the refill shop, Shambhala, in Pai, who let me interview them, and they told me their story ππ³
- To Noke in Houay Xai, Laos, who invited me to her parents’ Chinese New Year party when I was staying at her hostel ππ»
- To all the local young people at Daauw Homestay who made me feel very welcome ππ€²π½
- I bought a tiny amythest crystal in Luang Prabang, Laos for 10,000 kip and the stall man gave me another one for free! ππ£
- More to come….
