Where does the time go? ⏲

So I wrote a very good blog post on 15th August, coincidentally 2 months to the day after my last post. Alas, technology failed me and I lost it. It was along the theme of me panicking about how I will have to leave everyone behind; family, friends, colleagues. Thinking of everything I’ll miss, including my niece growing up, who would have just turned 3 by the time I plan on leaving next year. It seems like she was born only a few weeks ago. Where does the time go?

I’ve moved house again. I was in the temporary property for 3 months. That time flew by! I’ve been in my new place for 2 weeks, although it seems much longer. I might move again in a couple of months, I haven’t decided yet.

The countdown to my one-way ticket has begun. I plan to leave the first week of September 2019, so in 12 months I’ll be gone. I’m getting more excited. I’ve been reading up on Southeast Asia and thinking about where my first stop will be – maybe Rome 🏛 and then WWOOFing on a vineyard somewhere.

Once I get an India guided tour booked, approximately one month in duration, potentially spending Diwali at the end of October in Varanasi, I can work backwards (and forwards) from there. I also remembered that I want to go to Sri Lanka, possibly volunteering with a group called EMACE as part of the Mangrove Action Project.

I’m still saving up, still trying to sell the car, but feel as if I’m saving a good amount a month, so am less stressed about that (although I have no idea how much I’m going to spend getting all the right “backpacking equipment” or even what I’ll really need). Travel light!

The 3 month summer drought is over, the nights are pulling in, but before you know it, in 6 months, it will be spring again.

And I’ll wonder, “Where did the time go?” ⏲🍁🍃
